Looking for workshop East Sussex

Post by tripleparanoia » Wed Sep 05, 2018 2:58 pm

I'm looking for a garage to fit Eibach lowering springs and H&R anti-roll bars to my 2010 E89 30i.

I have been searching on forums and contacted a number of places like Munich Legends, Walkers Autotech, AJ Robertson, BMR performance and even Mstyle. I have also contacted some local garages.

Unfortunately they are all quoting fairly high for labour only, ballpark being above £500 not including any alignment.

I wonder if anyone has recommendation on where to go? Or am I being too naive and should be forking it out?
Any help appreciated thanks!

They're probably bumping up the labour a little as they won't be making any money out of the parts supply - that said, if you've gone to several reputable workshops and they're all quoting roughly the same figure then that's probably the going rate for the work...

Mine is there Monday provided my B12 kit turns up - quoted £130 plus vat for my //M, though understand is a straight swap.

It may be more as yours is an E89

You may need to think about a full alignment after its settled, though ETA can’t do this. Once settled, will try Boss Racing in Fawkham who set up my mates race cars for Brands... will let you know how get on if interested

Labour really shouldn’t be any more than £200 to fit springs, especially given that the rears take 20 minutes a side max.

I use hailsham bmw for ‘real’ services and have found them to be pretty competitive. Not sure they would be cheap on labour for this though as they can’t make money on parts as PerryGunn has said. To be honest it wouldn’t surprise me if they wouldn’t be up for it as they are aftermarket, and haven’t been bought from them.
