Reliable indy required in Somerset

Post by ErrErrminator » Sat May 26, 2018 8:18 pm

I’m just outside Taunton in Somerset and am looking for a good local independent BMW specialist to take my E85 to.

When I live a little further south in East Devon I used to take my previous BMWs to Paddock Motors, who are now on the Exeter to Sidmouth road. I may go back to them, although they’re an hour in the wrong direction for easy drop-off and collect when I’m working.

From a quick Google I see there is Grants of Wellington and an outfit called Jacks in Taunton. Has anyone any experience of either? Any others around? I’ve seen a few good reports of Eden in Yeovil, but again it’s a bit in the wrong direction really.

I've used several locally who are good but now charging the same as BMW, I've now settled on Highbridge Motortech Nr Burnham-on-Sea. Not a big name and very old-school (unflashy and borderline rude if you try and take the p') but get around the back and see what's being entrusted to Dean and his team. Always an Aston, Porsche or ///M in the shop. Dean has prepared and raced BMW's as well as his full-house F1 sidecar outfit which he is campaigning at the moment (well worth a tour, the thing is jaw-dropping) They know their stuff intuitively and the best bit is they work hard to save you from unnecessary work.
2003 2.5 SE, low miles, Sterling Grey, 108's & Eagles, no stubby here! Unmolested.

That’s interesting as they are lieterally 200 yards away from my work place. I have been to them once in the past with a Honda I used to own. Maybe I should pop round for a chat.
