Black Forest

Post by Lance » Thu Apr 05, 2012 1:46 pm

Am off to Switzerland by bike in July and am headling down through the Alsace region, toward Colmar and possibly the Black Forest.

These areas are places that I'm not too familiar with, so am looking for suggestions for good routes or stopovers. Prefer smaller towns/villages and cities are a no no for me.

Am sorted for the Switzerland part, just what to make the best of the journey down

I know the BF has some really nice old towns.......so fire away

Thanks In Advance

I don't know the roads too well (we've visited the area twice and have always been in the campervan...) but Titisee is a lovely place. On a lake, quite touristy but nice all the same. The road leading south-west out of Titisee through Todtnau is a cracker from memory, very scenic.

Just don't stop in Colmar, that is my first place I stop on the way to Switzerland and it is just that - an overnight stop. Awful place :)

Just so I am awake the next day to pop in Germany and open the car up fully refreshed
