I'm not sure what alternatives are out there.
I think there is one called Tyre which looks okay, but I don't have a TomTom or a Garmin so didn't think that would work for me.
Something a friend of mine pointed me towards is Furkot. https://trips.furkot.com/
I think so far it seems really decent. Just thought I would share it in case anyone else was looking for something to help with the planning. It even suggests B&B's / Hotels to stay at on your journey. After you set how much driving you want to do a day, it then finds a location to stop for the night. Really neat.
