E85 Aero Spoiler Fitting
Hi
Has anyone fitted or have the aero spoiler fitted to thier boot lid as I like the spoiler and the look and wonderd how it attaches?
There seem to be a few on eBay but they don't mention how they attach.
Thanks in advance.

i think you will find they are stuck on with tigger seal or something like that. the boot does not need to be drilled.

The adhesive you are looking for is called betalink and should be available from your BMW dealer. The adhesive does not dry completely hard so as to give it some flexibility of movement and resist cracking.

Got my spayed locally and fitted with the BMW supplied adhesive. Trail fit and position marked with masking tape and checked again before glueing.Swiftly wrote:The adhesive you are looking for is called betalink and should be available from your BMW dealer. Put the glue in the centre section of either side as it will spread as you push down firmly and into position.
You don't want it to 'spill out' onto the boot lid. Held in place overnight with masking tape to ensure no movement and 8 years on still in the same place and secure with no problems

I didn't use the beta adhesive as it was 3 years out of date! Was returned for a refund. Like I said before I used tiger adhesive its been on my z'd for over a year with no issues..... 100% recommended tiger!
I followed the retrofit instructions as to the applied areas to use the adhesive.

Re: E85 Aero Spoiler Fitting
Betalink is 100% permanent, you cannot remove the spoiler afterwards without damaging your boot. If Tiger is removable I would go for that.

I wouldn't say tiger is removable just an alternative adhesive, I don't reckon mine would ever come off without damaging the spoiler and/or boot lid! Even the sticky pads supplied would be a pain to remove I reckon....It's there to stay!
P.S Loving the spoiler, who would want to remove it
EDIT: Tiger is permanent! http://www.hex.co.uk/tds/upol/tigerseal.pdf

JE has had most of his work done at Mstyle! Some good, some very bad reviews!
Online prices always incorrect and my personal experience they have awful consumer services. I won't use them!
I'm sure others will praise them.... Terry

E85 Aero Spoiler Fitting
I just bought one of these
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133901702901 ... SwbrZhZSLJ
Next challenge how to fit it... As it doesn't sit flat on the boot lid for a bonding surface. Looks like it needs some sort foam gasket to join the two.
Pictures to follow.
