Parking sensor

Post by Yan » Tue Oct 29, 2013 1:18 pm

Hi

I wonder if anyone could help me, ,my parking sensors have gone crazy, they are making a continuous beep when no obstacle in the back.

What should I do.

Are they dirty? I believe they can do this if there's muck on the sensors.

They can misbehave if they've got water in them too. If cleaning and drying them doesn't help you can either plug in a laptop with INPA or disconnect them one at a time to isolate the faulty one.

Thank you guys
How do I get access to them to check if they are dirty. I guess with all the water we have had in the south west. Water and muck be the problem here.

The connectors are behind the bumper. With the ignition on (but engine off for obvious reasons) you can put it in reverse and put your ear to each sensor. You should be able to hear them ticking.

If you let people know where you are, maybe someone will have a laptop with INPA and can plug in for you...

Ok on the map now.
Did try to clean them one by one but still the same problem.
How to I get access to them to isolate each one to find the faulty one?

Not 100% but I think you may need to take the bumper off.
