CD changer not working

Post by samZ4M » Tue Jul 05, 2016 11:16 am

My CD changer doesn't want to work. The magazine is taken in/out, the stereo recognises there is one, but it just sits 'loading' the CD, I've left it 10+ minutes. Using new CD's that work fine in the front slot loader too.

I'd use AUX, but it seems quieter, and with the top down it isn't up to much.

CD changer not working

Are you sure there's not a disc jammed in the mechanism? A mate with a Z3 had similar issues, removed the disc and worked ok but jammed every time on disc 3, ended up replacing magazine and all is ok now.

CD changer not working

Has the CD changer worked previously? Also, was a "substitute" been used previously (like a DICE or Intravee) that involved disconnecting the connector?

Mine has an Intravee installed, and the CD Changer is also still installed (but not connected). I can load and unload the CD Changer but cannot play as the Intravee now uses the connectors.

I'm sure it used to work. I'll take a look to see if anything is jammed later on.

No 3rd party that'd have caused the cables to be disconnected.

The changers can be problematic. A whack can sometimes sort them out.

Best option is to use some for of MP3 interface and remove it.
