For anyone needing it Maplin p/n for the single pin connectors is A39GF

well.. as I've now returned to the world of BMW.. it's only fair I offer my services building these again :)
Prices are still the same, but I can now offer iPod/iPhone connectivity and charging for an extra tenner.
it does NOT provide control from the headunit (yet.. still working on that).. but it does provide audio as well as charging.
Works fine on my iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4 and iPod Classic  it is NOT tested on anything else!
:zzzz:

Hey guys, I finished the cable, connected it... And... Nothing! Nothing at all, however the radio gives me an interesting message when I turn it on... It shows -DISABLED- and then takes me to either the radio or CD, but no aux option :(

here's a short video of the message click on the link below:

What would be the options available to bypass this message?

Thanks!

Hi,

Installed the AUX cable from In-Car Tunes (the one with the circuit board fitted)
http://www.incartunes.co.uk/pc7-bmw-01- ... -580-p.asp

AUX works fine and is visible on the head unit but all bass is completely gone from the sound.

I know this is because of the resistors/capacitor that is soldered onto the circuit board but these are needed so that the head unit will pick up the AUX option.
From what I have read if I remove these the bass is fine but in the Z4 this would mean that the AUX is not picked up right?

Does anyone know how to get around this?
Is it possible for the dealer to force the AUX option to appear so that I can remove the resistors/capacitor?

Thanks

Is there anywhere I can see the original pics for this? Bought my components but would love to see the original pics/diagrams.

Also I have nav and Bluetooth - I assume that I need to out my cables into the back of the Bluetooth block? What connectors do I need to fit into the existing block (I assume I've read that right)?

@theAB, Sounds like you got the picture. I researched this a while back and made some notes, but I've yet to procure the parts and do anything. Best I can tell, the connectors you need are part# 61138369696, female connector for MQS blocks, for 0.2 to 0.5 sq mm wire.

One improvement idea I had was to use shielded stereo cable, even though it's a short run for most installations.

Just built my cable, but the original pictures are no longer available, so can't see which colour to connect to which pin on the back of the stereo. Does anyone have a picture or remember which colour goes to which pin?

Hope someone can remember. :?
