Yup,

2003, 3.0, Offside rear at around 128,000 miles. Don't know if they were the original springs. I bought a complete set of Eibachs for around £190, I've fitted the rears (easy DIY job), will do the fronts when the weather improves!

Evening all.

I've a 2003 3.0i and just had the rear springs replaced by a BMW independent garage twice in the last week. The handling following the initial spring replacement was awful, traction control kicked in round fast sweeping bends. Thinking they were inferior, today they replaced the rear springs with genuine BMW (I understand they're the same as the M Sport) handling has not improved. To be honest I'm at a loss, does the tracking or wheel alignment need checking. Any advise is much appreciated.

Thanks Tony

The alignment should be checked after renewing suspension parts,on a hunter 4 wheel alignment machine ,as far as I am aware

My last E89 had some work done which I’m told included dropping the the rear suspension • it seemed ok at UK motorway speeds but very nervous on the Autobahn (120/130 mph) so there maybe something in having it properly tracked up

Quick update.

Geometry all to cock so that's now sorted. Car still doesn't handle as it should, traction control kicks in around sweeping corners. My family estate handles better, absolutely gutted.

Looking back at previous pictures, the gap between top of tyre and wheel arch appears larger now than before. Any info as to roughly this should be will be much appreciated :headbang:

Tryes are new and pressure correct. There is however a ? regarding type. Although correct size, im questioning my decision not to go for Bridgestone. More phone calls tomorrow!

If the ride height is higher and there is a loss of rear end grip it could be that the new springs are too stiff.

Tyres only fitted a few weeks ago on the basis they are A rated fior grip. On paper they preform better than Bridgestone.
Booked in again Friday morning. Although it still maybe the tyres, Andyf has a very good point.

Thanks guys, much appreciated

Is there any intervention by the traction control or is it a warning light only situation.
