i had my z4 2003 2.2 checked over a year or so back and they found a broken rear spring - assumed it was just due to age??

Andy, same happened to me last year at 29k! my mechanic says its a fault in the design of the rear springs, they thin out near the end and thats where they break. :x

Had a quick run through Glen Coe about a week ago. First proper run and I could hear a wee tinny rattle. I thought it was a loose heat shield or something. Popped up to my mechanic when I got home and he produced this.

Told me just order a pair of standard ones. Argyll roads don’t take too well to the Zed being lowered

Both my rear springs snapped last year, so I also did the only responsible thing and replaced the whole set with a B12 kit

Well it's taken a while as I have had my Zed since 2012 but now I can add myself to the broken spring list :( passengers side rear found broken but couldn't tell by driving or it's stance only on inspection. now replaced with a pair of M sport direct replacement, I would have maybe liked to change them for something more softer to improve the ride , but it's MOT day tomorrow so couldn't wait :) :driving: oh yes it's on 82k and 2005 vintage so they have lasted well . :D
