Re: Changed Alternator, but still not charging??
solved!
Based on toe-side's picture, I double checked the connector on the starter incase I had missed something.
I hadn't, but whilst looking, I did notice that one of the connectors wasn't sitting quite straight.
Took it off and it appears you need to put one cable on first, then the other.. there's a specific order.
once I spun these two around, tightened everything up again, and started him up, I am now getting 14.4v at the battery
Thanks everyone - really... you don't know how down I've been these last few days over this.

Thats really great news
Cars can be a pain and kick you in the balls when you least need it.
Come to think of it all internal combustion based equipment can be like this!

Tell me about it. Its been a stupidly expensive year (spent a total of about 15k on stuff i really didn't want to spend it on)
If this marks the end of my woes, at least the end of the year will be cheaper and far less stressful.
Thanks again guys.. Truely!

Thank goodness you found it. I was beginning to think you'd blown the diode pack on the new alternator....

Changed Alternator, but still not charging??
If you go through the posts in this thread step by step, pretty much every possibility is covered, but as is usually the case eliminating basics is a must.Hannes du randt wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2018 3:57 pmDid.you get your problem.sorted .
