Warning lights - WSS?

Post by TheDan » Wed Sep 01, 2021 5:49 pm

Hi all,

I got these warning lights on the way home from an exhaust repair:

Which yielded this error code:

They triggered when braking hard and the lights came on and the wheels locked up. I since reset the error code and went for a drive including some hard braking. Once or twice the ABS actually kicked in, however on a third hard brake the lights came on and the wheels locked up again.

I am really hoping its not an ABS pump issue... Can anyone shed any light?

For future searchability the error code is 005D91.

Same error code too? If you could that would be awesome. I've got another track day on Saturday and I might be going ABSless

Warning lights - WSS?

Bingo bango bongo! Seems the left WSS was the culprit and I am not surprised looking at the old one!

Took it out for a spin stomping on the brake pedal to ignite the ABS which was giving me the warning lights before. The lights stayed off and it all seems okay (for now).

Result then!
I had exactly the same problem myself a while back.
I think I caused the failure myself as it occurred on a test run after I changed the front brakes. The front left disc was stuck fast.
Although I didn't touch the sensor, the shock through it caused by my use of the BFH to remove the disc was enough to cause the sensor to fail.
HQ of 'Norfolk Zed Rescue'.
Always happy to help if I can.
