I run a 64 Bit Windows 10 Laptop .
I installed the full suite of INPA software as bundled with BMCables DVD.
This included VMWare.
My Laptop was subsequently unable to run Windows updates due to an incompatibility problem with VMWare and there was NO VMWare Uninstall progtramme anywhere in the bundle.
I tried many online suggestions none of which worked - I was apparently not alone with this issue.
Finally I downloaded : MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_uninstall.meta.diagcab
from the microsoft website
This Troubleshooter removed VMWare completely.
I have not actually used the VMWare software but will reinstall it if I have to
I was then able to carry out about 20 Windows updates without issue.

From what I can see its best just to install the BMW s/w direct on the laptop..
The indirect abstraction of all the device drivers etc and running a sandpit inside windows seems like hardwork..IMHO..

So, is it possible to install and run DIS without VMWARE? Bcables seems to say no.

I run it on a very old XP laptop, but it still took a bit of faffing around to get it to work.

Which program is DIS? Is that one of the old E85 required products?
I've got the ususal stuff ISTA INPA NCS Expert etc running on a i7 laptop under win 10 pro native quite happy..I did need an expert to install and configure it for me..one of the guys here in Hungary did it for me..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Win 10 issue with INPA VMWARE software
It's probably just a case of the VMWare player being out of date and incompatible with Windows 10. I've had the same bcables cable and software running on a Win7 laptop for the last 10 years and it's OK but it didn't want to run on Windows 10 when I tried recently.
I bought another cable with a switch a week ago from china and have just installed all the other tools using this guide on a newer laptop: https://www.e46fanatics.com/threads/not ... 0.1126314/
Not really missing much with DIS, it's a bit clunky running in the emulator too. If I get time I'll have a go at moving the virtual disc image to a newer version of vmware and replicating the settings.
