HELP! Clutch replacement and a bunch of other issues

Post by Racer_dude » Sun Jun 06, 2021 10:34 am

Hi folks,

Basically I am debating whether to have a bunch of work done to the z4 or selling the vehicle as I am due to renew my insurance in July.

Clutch became slipping a few days ago - revs go up but speed doesn't rise as much as I would expect.

Looking over the car I need a bunch of stuff doing:

1. Oil filter housing gasket replacement N52
2. Clutch +/- DMF N52
3. ?? Oxygen sensor - EML came on 2 weeks ago took it to my local garage who reset it. Came on following day again after reset but has subsequently disappeared again.
4. Front bumper clip to secure the bumper to the front
5. Rear Brake pipe corrosion fix - on MOT adviaory
6. Brake dust shield rattle fix
7. Engine rattle/tappety on start up then idle slightly or when decelerating
8. Rear parking sensor doesn’t work
9. ? tyres worn on outer edges – 2 x new tyres front. Previous keeper has replaced the whole front suspension but unusual tyre wear on front.
10. Rough idle on start up but settles down after
11. Sticky steering - i have adjusted the eccentric ring which has helped alleviate this somewhat.
12. Sqeaky wiper motor

I believe these are all the issues with the car.
Previous keeper lost service book but it has partial service history and now on 121k miles bought it on 116k.

Anyone know the rough cost of getting everything sorted?
Or have any reputable garage recommendations?

I am based in the Leicester. Happy to travel to go to a reputable garage who can do the jobs at a reasonable price. Or may just sell the vehicle.

Any advice or opinions folks

HELP! Clutch replacement and a bunch of other issues

Hi,
I'd say if the rest of the car is in a good condition, then keep it.
If you get a mechanic to fix the clutch, the rest of the things are not very hard to DIY.
Rough idle could be harder to fix as multiple parts could cause it.
Good luck
