Can anyone advise on the best place to get INPA and a cable .

I am running windows 10 64 bit on my laptop if that makes a difference .

Thanks again
I bought this on the advice of colb. It works well,
includes a cable and installs most of the software for you :

Thanks for the link . I had a look at the feedback on this on and some of the comments are that much of the diagnosis is in German . Is that right ?

Almost all of the copies of INPA are mostly German. Even the ones that are in "English" you will find yourself looking at German after few clicks in. After a while you start to understand a little bit of German! Plus you can always use Google translator.

That will be educational for me as the only German words I know are swear words or Rammstein lyrics

Thanks

Help !! Cant get pressure to stay on brake pedal

I use an icarsoft for general use and run INPA having bought the cable and disc from : Bcables.
Careful though I would NOT install VMWARE PLAYER.
I went ahead and installed all of the software on my Win 10 laptop
It all works great but VMWARE now prevents me from updating Windows and there is no uninstall option.

I am still looking for a solution to getting rid of VMWARE

That`s a really good heads up as I would have just installed everything . I have looked at icarsoft which of the 2 would you say is best for dealing with issues such as this . Obviously icarsoft is more expensive . Just need to order today so that I can get it sorted asap .

Thanks

The basic V1 icarsoft does not have the ability to function the ABS -
for that you would need the V3 which is much more expensive.
An Icarsoft V1 plus the cable and software from Bcables suits me fine.
Resets lights , dos the ABS function and steering readouts etc.

Others are available

You have the calipers on the right side? Ie bleed nipples to the top?

He would have struggled to get the flexi lines fitted if they were upside down though surely?

Yes bleed nipples on top  A good point though which from looking on the internet is not uncommon .

The Brake master cylinder on my Z4 does not operate the clutch - Its an AUTO for a start.

The 2 pipes from the Split system Master Cylinder both feed into the ABS / DSC controller Valves and pump.
This ensures you do NOT lose all your fluid from the master if you develop a fault on one Caliper.
You have 50% braking left
These are the independent feeds from the master cyl

Help !! Cant get pressure to stay on brake pedal

Post by 1536Z4 » Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:56 pm

I have now received the cable and downloaded software . Connected to car and switched ignition on and everything seemed to be working fine BUT
I selected E85 as no option for E86 and then selected chassis . Only one DSC showed up which was DSC_MK60 . I selected this and a message came up saying " requested control unit DSC.MK60 not found. Control unit found DSC_85 . Program will be stopped " so that is as far as I got .

Any INPA users advice welcomed . Do you think I need to download a different version of INPA from beemergeeks for example ?

Thanks in advance

If you go to "Functional Jobs" you should be able to scan for all available modules for your car and see if there's anything else you should be scanning instead.
