Had my 2004 3.0 Z4 since march and loving it so much more than the mk5 Golf GTI i had before! The car does seem to have this issue of when manoeuvring of that the steering will creak pretty much every time I move the steering wheel. When moving it hardly does it its mainly when parking but I have heard it a few times when driving. I have read quite a bit about the steering column having issues but i haven't read much about the creaking issue.
I have also experienced the steering appear to stick. Mainly when at motorway speeds after a period of time it usually feels like its a bit stuck and requires a bit more force to move wheel.
