New clutch

Post by pompeypunkrock » Thu Apr 29, 2021 3:36 pm

Hi folks.

Clutch slipping when in high gear when put foot down, for a new clutch is in order.
Does anyone know how much I’d expect to pay for a decent indie to change this.
E85 2003 2.5 manual.

Thanks.

Give a couple a ring is your best bet. Will depend on where you are in the country to a degree.

New clutch

In 2010, my indy spanner man chareged me about £60 to change the clutch on my Eunos / MX5. I was well pleased but the mechanic explained how much easier, quicker and therefore cheaper it was to change compared to a clutch on a front wheel drive car. Drop the propshaft, disconnect the clutch housing and you're in there as far as I understand it.
So with a bit of luck it won't be that much different for the Zed either.
