Steering Pulling
Hi there, On my '08 E86 the steering has just started pulling right to the right and feeling a bit vague and twitchy when running straight, not the usual tramlining issue, thought it was soft front right tyre at first but it's not, feels normal when lock is applied either way on corners. I've also got the tyre, brake and circular arrow triangle lit up on the dash. Don't really know where to start with finding the problem so I'm hoping it'll sound familiar to someone and all suggestions / recommendations gratefully received!

You really need to confirm the Fault Codes - Its the starting point in any diagnosis.
If you mean these lights then
In my experience only :
Steering Angle Sensor Failure - Fault Code 5E40 - SAS replacement
AMBER BRAKE / TPS / DSC Lights
This proved much more difficult to actually diagnose.

INPA software can check the function of your SAS and pinpoint the issue.

Thanks, a bit worrying but helpful. I've had it on a Carly and got this:
005E40 Steeering angle sensor implausible offset / Lateral acceleration sensor offset errors / wheel speed sensors back right: signal edge is missing: RDFtype 11i ---(DSC: wheel speed supply back right: signal edge is missing (RDF type 11i) / wheel speed sensors back right: signal edge is missing.
Does that throw any light on the likely fault(s) please?
Thanks
Max

5E40 is a steering angle sensor issue which is exacerbated by :
Back right wheel sensor is self explanatory - inspect / fix it / replace it ( LH sensor drives the speedo)
Laterel accelaeration issue could either be the Yaw sensor under the drivers seat itself or more likely an acceleration issue brought about by the dodgy rear wheel sensor.
With your second post you really aswered the questions in your first post
Change / fix the wheel sensor then put it back on Carly and check again .
IMO

Thanks - its still under a BMW Approved Used Car warranty so I'll get it booked in - really wanted to make sure I wasn't just going to get fobbed off with some tech jargon and end up with a big invoice!
Cheers
