Anyone had this kind of wheel wobble

We have a slight vibration in our car at about 80 and after investigation we were told that one of the rears has a slight flat spot.
The tyre with the flat spot previously had a puncture repaired in it.

I had the same thing about a month ago
I thought I lost a weight so swapped the spare on both fronts no difference
Turned out to be a seized brake calliper nearly melted my finger print off when I touched the disk

Many years ago I had exactly the symptoms you describe with a TR7, which turned out to be propshaft related. Some part of it wasn’t tightened correctly and dropping down speed it developed quite a severe harmonic vibration, but at other speeds and on the way up it was OK.

Are these wheels renound for being easily buckled?
Don’t know what wheels you have! However I didn’t notice that you said when slowing down. I remember my bro in law had a vibration and noise on his E46 that got worse going up from 40mph. Sounded like a dodgy wheel bearing to me but turned out being a buckled wheel - a 17 inch type 44 if I recall correctly.

Not sure if this might help but I had warped discs which caused the vibration on my car.

I had exactly this issue. Random vibration through the steering column at random speeds. Turned out to be a partially seized front caliper. Replaced them both and all is now well. Someone on here had pointed me in the right direction, took the car out for a 10 minute drive and then parked up and touched each wheel, one was noticeably hotter (front left in my case).

$hed has also mentioned this in his post.

Hope this helps.

I had this exact issue and when I got home 2 of my wheel bolts had snapped and the other 3 were loose. Was a shock but at least it was a simple fix. Could be something around the rear tyres such as flat spotting but I think that would be more obvious at various speeds. Good luck though

So Guys,

I had a friend look at my issues yesterday, conclusion is below, explains the pulling to the left and steering issues.

1. Seized NSF brake calliper - Replace £90.00 with Eurocarparts discount + Surcharge on old unit.
2. NSF Lower arm - £114.00
Total = £158.12

3. Renew both rear lower arm bushes that go into subframe as these have slight play, £62.28 + VAT from Powerflex.

If any one can obtain cheaper costs for the above items give me a shout as these issues do need doing of course.

Hopefully this comes in handy if any of you experience same issue.

Cheers
