Carver amp

Hey Z peeps, I'm assuming it's an issue with my amp but when I use the radio, cd, or aux input, the feed cuts out for a second or two every 15 seconds +/-. Anybody else experience this. What is the alternative? It's an 03 Z4 and I don't know what's available as a compatible replacement. Suggestions??
Thanks!

There is no compatible replacement, either get it repaired or get another amp from a breakers (try Quarry Motors)

Before replacing the easy fixes first:
- disconnect-reconnect amp
- open amp and eyeball for bulging capacitors
- battery problems can cause all kinds of gremlins

I sold my amp before it failed for £200.

I then bought a new pioneer head unit top quality for £200. An alpine amp for £450. I also had to buy a few other parts for £100-£150 and then paid around £600 in labour for it to be fully re wired and the new head unit and amp to be installed. It was a £2k job all in.

It's best to just get a second hand amp and just sell the car mine has just had issue after issue.

Dmike, thanks for the suggestions. I disconnected and re-connected the amp and that appears to have fixed the issue. Hope it lasts.

We're going to try this as well for the incoming Z project. Going to take a closer look at her after we finished installing the shocks and ridge grappler tires onto the current Wrangler project. The battery might acting up as well.
