The motor is nothing special, just a conventional dc with carbon brushes. The brushes will β€˜self clean’ if you can just get them to conduct for a split second by tapping the motor.

That motor has been replaced at some point in its life and has the later style motor from BMW which has large electrical spade terminals which won’t come back to life with cleaning and tapping. They require stripping and the soldered joints redone.
