The roof motor on my E85 is currently broken, though I'm able to use it in manual mode with the red cable pulled.
It folds back and sits ok, when down, though doesn't click into place which the manual suggests it should. The interior release latch above the centre storage unit is also 'locked solid' with no play or movement at all. Is there a lock preventing this from operating, or is there access to the mechanism from behind from where it can be released? - There's nothing to suggest it's corroded and it's a bit high up for any water to collect.
The paperwork from the previous owner suggests there's a GTech RCH module somewhere, but I haven't investigated that yet..
Thanks.

Have you got the parcel shelf set in the upper position?
Would be useful if you could post a few pics to help explain

Normally the locking mechanism for stowage lock extends once the hall sensor detects that the top is down.
Since it's not moving using the roof motor, are you pressing the button for roof open once you manually lowered it? If so, you should hear it locking.
For reference, it's not hard to access the lock and see why there is no movement in it. Just be careful not to break any clips
Remove the storage lid . After that you can remove the cover panel, which should give you access to see the lock.

Going from the OP's signiture he has the facelift 3.0si which has no locking mechanism fitted and the interior release latch above the centre storage was also deleted so that answers two of the problems. The third will no doubt be a motor that looks like it lived at the bottom of the sea for £200 years. Nearest member to Herefordshire that could sort that out and relocate it to the boot for you is probably Number5 in Bristol.

Hi,
Thanks, though I definitely have the latch above the storage unit.

Some facelift cars do have the centre catch, it was not deleted when the facelift was initially released, but a few months later.ph001 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 4:11 pm Going from the OP's signiture he has the facelift 3.0si which has no locking mechanism fitted and the interior release latch above the centre storage was also deleted so that answers two of the problems. My ///M had it, but I have since removed.

It’s still fitted but it’s just a cosmetic cover (i.e no play or movement). This is mine fitted to a 57 plate...
