Water in footwell

Post by Timmyboybunter » Sun Jul 21, 2019 2:40 pm

Another day, another problem - feels like I'm having a bad run at the moment. Really doesn't help that I took an E89 for a spin today too :D

I noticed a damp patch in the drivers footwell today - I checked the passenger side and whilst not bone dry, it only has a slight hint of water which could have come from my passenger as we were out in the wet yesterday. The drivers side is wet enough to be some kind of issue however. You can't really see on the photo, but the dark plastic bit under the accelerator is wet as is the carpet just below it.

I've never noticed this before, but I did have the car on ramps for a couple of hours while I was messing around with the front bumper. I've read some forum posts relating to block channels at the front - could this new damp patch be something draining back into the car while I had it at quite a steep angle yesterday? My drivers side door membrane has been cut through the middle so I'm on the look out for leaks, but it has been this way since I got the car a year ago and hasn't caused any issues yet.

No, almost 100% on the level.

Yes I should have done that in hindsight - I do plan on replacing them at some point as both sides are the same, noticed when adding the sound deadening.
