DMF Rattle? Cause?

Clutch/DMF

Can someone explain what is the cause for the DMF rattle at idle when the clutch pedal is released (out), and the car is at idle?

If this a concern?
Can you elaborate ?

Not uncommon at all for a noise with dmf which alters when clutch is out / in
I had a 85k Si with it , clutch & box functioned perfectly , my indy said live with it as it was unlikely to fail

Thanks for the reply, I have read (on this forum) that it is not usually a concern, but for my own peace of mind, I am hoping to understand this issue a little more.

Can you or anyone elaborate on the actual source of the noise?

I'm generally not they type to 'just live with it' - call it a form of OCD

I was always under the impression that it was the thrust bearing that was on its way out.

My dmf is getting noisy it clunks when I switch the engine off. Something to tackle when the clutch needs replacing.
