Now then...
The driver window has opened and remained down
luckily its not rained all week
It used to half open when the roof was opened and then insist on going down all the way before it would very reluctantly (pull back a hundred times!) raise back into place. Been like that a few years.
When it was intermittent, taking the switch out and wriggling it sometimes worked. No more
Sometimes there are two quiet clicks when you press the button. No more.
Charging the battery also helped. No more.
I'm a bit dubious about the idea of the regulator cables being damaged as when it worked it was absolutely fine.
Ideas and how to proceed?
thanks.

I've taken the door card off.
How would I identify a faulty motor or regulator?
Pressing the switch gives a quiet double click noise-

doubleclick noise. Exactly the same issue.
I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the regulator.
The widow will not move when levered from below.
sadly taking it apart and putting it back together failed for me
Does anyone know how the window is actually controlled?
should i buy a motor?
is it a software issue?
