Ok so I just had it fixed by the garage that did the MOT as they quoted £200. I thought it was fair based on you guys and a couple of quotes as the car was already with them..... anyway go to collect the car and they charge £241 as they needed to change more than they thought.... now am I right to feel a bit angry by this? The 2 brake hoses on the rear alone are showing as £59.90 plus vat! Seems very steep to me!

To be fair that doesn't look too bad, especially if the hoses cost £59.90 + VAT.
If you aren't happy you could always ring BMW for a price for them.

Id be a bit pissed off but would take it on the chin, i generally take any quote from a garage with a pinch of salt and only use them if i dont have the tools or skills to do the job myself.. the brake lines are around 2 hours work
if its got tits or tyres..its trouble

Rear brake hoses costing £59.90 plus vat??!? If you were to spend a little more for Goodridge front and rear you would of got them for £73.29 ex vat. £36.65 ex vat for the rear alone. (based on M prices) I'd imagine similar prices for non m models

Exactly I was thinking braided performance hoses would of been a better bet as well!
I just saw that on eBay they have rear hoses for around £5 so god knows what kind they fitted but seems pricey for some standard rubber ones.
