It’s not OCD, it’s CDO……alphabetical order-as it should be.

Noisy Diff - pinion bearings !! UPDATE.
I know Z4s' are prone to noisy diffs- my Z4 Coupe has had a bit of a whine , (particularly when I first get it out of the garage) since I got it over 3 years ago ( at 59000 miles) now on 74000 and its still there but not get any worse. I had a BMW indy change the diff and gearbox oils when I got it but, it didn't stop the noise so I just accept it as a "feature"!
Again, the DMF can be noisy when warm ( stops when pressing down clutch) but again got no worse over 15,000 miles and runs lovely so, again, seems to be an N52 thing , and researching it, even when people fork out for a new clutch/flywheel, it seems the noise makes its self known again, so I just live with it- and its not that bad- nobodys ever said to me- "bloody hell, whats that noise?" !!

Thanks Highway. I don't think it can be too bad really, my friends say they can't hear anything and it's just me! But as I am the one that drives it then it's what I hear that matters, it's a feint whine at a frequency that grates with me. If I move my head so that it rests against the seat it seems to dissappear, so it's obviously not that loud. Maybe it's something else entirely and I'll figure it out eventually.
I guess I will have to get used to it or turn the radi on. Other than that, it's a great car
Thanks for the post though, it's reassuring.
