Roof damage

Post by Smartbear » Sun Dec 23, 2018 4:04 pm

Hi, the water runs down into compartments both sides of the car, it then drains from there to exit onto the road from behind the sills (just in front of both rear wheels)
It’s these drains that tend to block with leaves/dead cats etc, eventually filling with water & drowning your roof motor :(
It pays to check the drains are clear by pouring a little water each side & observing it soaking your feet as it exits or pay a skilled contortionist to relocate the motor to the boot cavity

That's where the water drains are. Water runs in there and out just in front of each rear wheel. It's the bottom drains that block up and cause water ingress. Look on here for how to clear your drains.

That has crossed my mind. Daunting for me though. I don't have the slightest idea how to go about it. I would want help or I pay someone.

Apart from the fag burn, the rest is OK by the look of it. The drainage holes are meant to be there

i seem to have one each side same dimensions on the other side, strange, same distance from the front, same distance in from the edge, asymmetrically identical

A 3 in spanner rating I would say and two people is better than one for lifting roof off and then putting back on
