As per title, whenever I put any charger in the 12v , it cuts out after a bump in the road and sometimes just randomly.
To begin with, I thought it might be a dodgy charger but, I've tried various chargers and my brothers phone charger would lose contact as well. If you pull the charger out and put it back again, all seems fine again for a couple of minutes or less.
So is it just a case of pulling the contacts in the 12v out a little so they have more attachment or is it something else?
I have never had this issue in other cars but I suppose it could be just worn/pushed back contacts?
Its a 2007 E86.

Its still playing up, so I quick look on parts cat' and a new socket and gubbins is listed as $18 (Whys it in dollars? Wheres the UK cat'?) so will get one ordered.
Is it quite straight forward to undo and fit the new parts- anybody had to do this before??

I had this same issue. It was intermittent then completely dead. I pulled out the assembly, metered everything and cleaned it.
Still didn't work.
Realised I didn't check the first place you should check - fuse was blown!
