Slight erratic idle

Post by simon1963 » Sat Oct 13, 2018 8:14 am

Hi everyone,

I’m getting a very slight erratic idle. The car feels as if it’s hunting and the needle pops up and down very slightly. It’s a 3 litre si. Does anybody else have this, is it a characteristic or a sign that maybe the plugs need changing. Otherwise runs a dream.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It could be a coil starting to break down.

Mine does the very same thing usually only on cold idle, would love to know what it is? How's your cold start sometimes mine takes an extra half a second if it's been sat for 48 hours.

Cold starts fine. Maybe as firebobby say it’s coil packs. Might pull the plugs and have a look at those.
