OK - after a my water pump failure the other week I am getting organised to swap a new one in this weekend along with a new thermostat. Whilst I was poking around today I noticed that my coolant is red/pink - (fortunately nice and clear though - phew - no HG problems by the looks of things  ). I always thought that BMW coolant was blue/green though? :o

Anyway I plan on doing a coolant change when I am doing the water pump and thermostat - but what is the best process to flush out the red/pink stuff - or do I just drain down the rad, expansion tank, pump, thermostat and connecting hoses and work on the basis that is the majority of the fluid and refill from there with the BMW OEM blue stuff? Any thoughts / tips?

I didn't get into a technical explanation, but my BMW Indy said to make sure it's blue! :)

I think the chemical make-up of the other colours is different, so I'd also try to flush it just in case.
Coupes because stunning!
