Unbelievable....

Post by Littlerascle » Wed Sep 19, 2018 9:48 am

I have searched and searched the forums and I have not located an answer. I do not know what to do. It has been at least 3 days and not a single problem with the Z! I'm not sure if I should take it to BMW or to an indie shop and have them look it over to try to find something....... :fuelfire:

Of course tomorrow I'm sure to call roadside assistance!!

4 years and 28k miles (now on 115k miles) of Zed ownership has made me a stranger to the recovery truck man and my local indie has not got rich through doing stuff to the Zed. I haven't thought twice about taking it to Le Mans each year.

I too had thought that the Zed may be unreliable and expensive, but so far so good.

Hope that yours continues to behave itself.

I hope you aren't tempting fate OP!

I bought my E91 just over 6 months ago and was very pleased with it. Until last Wednesday when the electric water pump died - so it got a trip to the mender's behind an RAC van! :(

Well, after 15 years:

Roof go up....roof go down
Roof go uup...roof go downn
Roof go uuup....roof go downnn
Roof....*+@$&$

I guess I was so excited to use the top all the time it finally gave up. This car is so fun!!! Drives like it's on rails!

Anyone in Florida help me swap out the motor or a recommendation on who to take it to? Not sure I want to tackle it myself.

Oh dear. :(

Looks like you may have been tempting fate after all!

In the UK we have a few members who can revive them before they move them to a dry location. I'm not sure if there is a "How To" but it's worth a search - you really don't want to have to buy a new one if you can avoid it.

Well....scoured the web before this happened and expexted it on a 15 year old with oem....scouring the web again...

All the motors sound normal (can hear each of them very clearly)...no wierd noises...unlatches, then doesn't move. Easy to push back with 1 hand...then pushing the open button completes the task and light goes off. Called half dozen places ... NOBODY wants the job :headbang:

Going down the rabbit hole.......! :driving:

So I got a quick reply and was told to try to "reset / resynch" the top since everything seems to work properly....

Anyone tried this?
