2003 E85 - Navigation power drain

Post by Ashz4lane » Sun Sep 16, 2018 2:27 pm

Hi, I'm hoping the collective knowledge might be able to help me with an irritating parasitic drain issue. I have the navigation system (with flip up screen fitted to my Z4 and it all works perfectly, but there seems to be a small fault on there that is draining the battery when the I don't drive it for a few days. I replaced the battery twice before pulling the fuse for the navigation system and its been fine ever since. I would like to get the unit working again, but I wondered if anyone had had the same problem and managed to solve it?

Thanks in advance.

Do you lock the car overnight or is it in a garage, as I led to believe the nav disc will keep spolling up, if the cars not locked ,

Does that fuse also do the light in the centre dropdown cubby? The switch often breaks on the dropdown meaning the light stays on all the time.
