Hi,
My Mechanic has diagnosed that this part needs replacing as something sticky was spilt and the top down button is permanently stuck.
I know the heated seat buttons work, not sure about dtc/tyre ones and the mechanic says the top up button works according to diagnostics.
1) Can I attempt to clean/soak the circuit board and buttons in alcohol/glass cleaner?
2) My part # is 6926959, according to https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=6926959 it was superseded by #6948771 and it is "nonexchangeable retrospectively" does that mean I have to specifically get #6926959 or I can ignore that and get any E85 switch unit?
3) a) Is it possible I can buy a bluetooth obd2 and carly app and just program the ecu so my key can open/close it?
b) Does the ability to program the ecu and use the key depend on a working switch unit?
Thanks.
