Roof not going up

Post by mark seeker » Mon Sep 10, 2018 1:19 pm

Hi

I had been out and about yesterday enjoying the sun in my Zed (E85), on getting home I tried to put the hood up and nothing really happens. I had some shopping in the boot but this was removed - just wondered if anyone had any ideas?

- Roof fully down, on pressing the roof up / down buttons the windows go up and down
- when trying to get the roof up it makes a noise as if it is trying to do something
- no warning lights on the dash
- the hood light doesn't flash etc.
- Boot empty

If anyone has any ideas I am all ears........thanks in advance
Mark

Thanks Mark - at least its in the garage and not sitting on the street! Is there anyway of manually raising the roof at all?

Yes there's a release cable in the boot but this may also be seized, it's in the boot red handle but look up the instructions as you pull an twist iirc

Problem with the release mechanisms is that they fail due to corrosion of the plunger on the pump head. As said though, both myself and several other members on here can fix that permanently for you in about 40 mins.

How can you fix the release cable if it’s stuck/ corroded?

Its corroded at the motor end. Once the motor is out and accesible, its easy to free the bypass valve and lubricate it.

State your location and someone near you will be able to help and offer their services.
