Struggling to remove VANOS unit - fouls on coolant hose

Post by Jakg » Sun Aug 12, 2018 6:09 pm

Trying to remove the VANOS unit from my 04 Z4 3.0 M54 but can't get the unit to come out - removed all the bolts but it fouls on a coolant hose. I can't see how the hose attaches to remove it. Any ideas?

Check with DLW (Ducklakeview ) I think he loosens engine mount bolts and jacks up the engine .
I maybe wrong but check with above .

Seeing as the coolant hose appears to be attached the engine, i'm not sure how moving the engine would help?

I think you'll find the coolant hose comes off too. As above check with DLV
