Rear springs again

Post by brack1e » Thu Aug 09, 2018 12:26 pm

Having changed my broken rear springs 3 years ago today I found that the off side rear spring has again snapped after 8000 miles, I can't remember what make of springs were fitted but they weren't genuine BMW parts, my question is which springs should I buy having been quoted £280 from my local BMW dealer ( not fitted ) for two rear spring for my 2008 2.0l sport Zed, I don't really want to go lower or find the ride is harsher. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Personally I use suplex, you can get them £100 for a pair roughly I think,

Thanks for the couple of replies, I did look at Suplex but wasn't sure which ones I needed but I might have to make Some more inquiries, and if anyone else would like to recommend a good spring then like I said, it will be very much appreciated

Go for the Suplex-they are quality springs that are MSport equivalent and also available for se spec. BMW springs are hugely overpriced and likely to break again before the Suplex springs.

Rear springs again

Hi all, sorry to jump onto your thread, but I’m looking at replacing my rear springs due to corrosion, and plan on using suplex, with new rubber mounts top and bottom. I am though a bit confused as to which ones to buy (I have a standard e85, 2.5).

Are these the ones? What does the 6227 number refer to as I note they are different and are my cause of confusion!
