I've had my 2003 Z4 for 4 years and it's got 166k miles.
The other day, I turned on the air and the it only vents out at the feet. Move the selector to Defrost or side vents; nothing happens.
It will blow cold air with the AC on, but it's going to the feet first. I've read about a air bleed door, but can't find information about location, trouble shooting, or replacement.

Have you checked for codes?
On my z4 the gasket in your diagram start breaking up and came thru the vent's in small chunks. Maybe the same happened on your's and a chunk of it has jammed up your system? However, I'd be surprised if this is the case. I went thru your diagram but, can't tell exactly how the bowden cable works.
However, if I was betting I'd say you need to clean or get a new Dash climate control. This from the picture on ebay and your diagram is electrical control for your vent system. Prior to buying a new one you could attempt cleaning the contacts points with electronical contact cleaner. Well, if this does work, I'd try buying a new climate control and hope that solves your problem.
