Budgie? Where is it?

Mine used to drive me mad until I stuck a piece of self adhesive felt inside the central catch on the leading edge of the hood. Try placing a microfibre cloth over the small metal central bracket behind and between the head restraints. Lower the hood and go for a drive. If the chirping stops then get your self some felt !
Can you point me in the general direction please?

Some do including my ///M. It wasn’t dropped at facelift exactly, they must have used the parts up.

I have however removed my centre catch to prevent it marking the roof lining.

Unfortunately not got a photo and my Zed is at the panel-wackers until tomorrow. If you kneel on the drivers seat with the hood up and visually follow the centre of the cubby up and over the trim panel between the roll bars at the rear edge you should see a small, peculiar, black metal bracket. If you now stay in that position and lower the hood you will see that as it comes down to rest that a small plastic/metal mating piece comes to rest on the black metal bracket. The interface between the two is what squeaks like a budgie ! Resist the temptation to lube it or grease it as this WILL end up on your headlining. You can remove the bracket and receiver but I decided to leave well alone and got self adhesive felt and stuck a small piece in the channel of the receiver. Maybe someone could post some photos to clarify it for you ?
