Trying to get the diff off but struggling
What's the best way to lock the propshaft to stop it turning?
I've got the handbrake on as hard as it will go and stuck it in reverse but still the bloody thing is turning

To get the inverse torx bolts off the diff drive flange?
I always put a tyre iron between the rear universal joint.
The end of the tire iron wedges against the fuel tank I believe when you turn the propshaft so you can use both hands to fiddle with the bolts etc.

Impact wrench if you can borrow one. Will remove them without needing to lock it. Failing that, someone in the car on the brake pedal.

For reference, first gear is normally a lower ratio than reverse.

You'll still need to lock them when putting the new diff in and torquing the bolts to spec.

Thanks all, jammed a bit of 4x2 on the brake pedal and they came off lovely
Front mounting bolts on the diff as well were surprisingly easy
Just got to shift the mounting bolt at the rear which has so far refused to shift and bent a spanner!
Doused in penetrating oil and left till the weekend now
