More coolant issues

Post by Puggsley2 » Sun Apr 22, 2018 10:19 am

After a recent change of coolant in my E85 Z4 I seem to be losing a small amount of fluid from the radiator. I can't find a leak under the car but I did find signs of fluid on the top centre of the radiator cover. (see attached). Apart from a small weep through the filler cap I have no idea how the fluid could get there. Can anyone tell me what is under the cover? Is there anything under there worth removing the cover for?

Possibly condensing and collecting there...?
New rad cap needed I'd suggest.

Spot on guys and thanks. I thought the radiator cap vented lower than it does and wondered what was under the BMW logo. Apparently nothing and the new cap seems to have fixed the problem. It should do too. From BMW the cap was nearly A$80 but I got one for A$45 from a car spares shop. All heating problems seem now to have been resolved and I thank all contributors for their input.
