Couple of issues after battery disconnect
Couple of issues after battery disconnect
Had my battery off last night to change the steering wheel and have a couple of issues now.
Firstly the old window reset thing. Drivers side lots one-touch. Have tried window reset a couple of times to no avail but will keep trying it and sure I can sort that.
Secondly is the more worrying issue. The dreaded 3 lights on the dash (orange handbrake, DSC and orange tpms)
From what I understand this would indicate abs issues but my brakes feel absolutely fine under hard breaking so hoping it's potentially a faulty sensor somewhere. It's probably also crucial to note that I also changed track rods and did tracking last night. Lastly I was turning the wheel hard left and hard right to ensure a problem I'd been working on was resolved (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=103888&p=1522397#p1522397)
I've read these lights can come and go with full wheel lock.
Can anyone suggest my best place to start? Which sensors to check etc? I've not had a chance to read codes yet and I appreciate it's probably going to be the most important thing I do first off but any info on the main offenders would be really useful.
Thanks very much in advance!

Yeah, I've done about 50 miles and stopped/started a few times but they're not going away. I did have these lights once about 18 months ago but ignition off/on and they buggered off

That said, I'm not concerned too much at the moment so happy to run it a couple of weeks if you think it's worthwhile

Id try maxxing the battery with a trickle charge for 24hrs , then try the window reset again , are you doing that with ignition at right setting > Car not running ?

It might be worth disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes then reconnecting. Nothing to lose by trying this. Electronics can be unpredictable.

Couple of issues after battery disconnect
What's your battery voltage with the engine off after it's been left overnight?

Thanks, I'll give it a bash over the weekend. Will also report back when I manage to get some ideas of fault codesmr wilks wrote: ↑Fri Mar 16, 2018 8:04 amNo mate , , , , ignition/dash illuminated but not running ,

Yeh, be very interested in that. It seems a big coincidence that these just came up as you reconnected your battery. The tyre pressure warning is the most bizarre as it's usually only wheel speed sensor problems that cause that to light. You can't help thinking that this is all battery voltage related.
I'm wondering if the fact that you removed the steering wheel / played around going from lock to lock has somehow screwed up the steering angle sensor calibration. With ignition on, I would be rotating steering from lock to lock and making sure dead centred, then resetting steering angle sensor to zero in INPA. I still don't understand the TPW light though.

Managed to read some codes tonight with this archaic beast...

Probably worth mentioning I also discovered a snapped rear spring tonight. Not sure exactly what this means but I've read you can recalibrate your steering angle sensor?
