Hi Guys,
Need a help from all of you.
I get this rattling noise from my engine recently.
See the vid.
Is this normal? I haven't had this noise before. But now, it come and goes. Sometimes it stays for a while.
I don't understand why. Anyone with similar experience?

Could be a serpentine belt pulley or an alternator bearing

Agree with Rob, try taking the belt off and run for a few seconds to confirm, remember the water pump wont run so only a few seconds.

I'm fairly sure that squealing noise is related to one of the tensioners/pulley.
I had a similar noise on mine. It wasn't constant, so was quite difficult to diagnose. One day it happened whilst i was on the driveway, so got out and i could hear it was the top right tensioner (i think it's the tensioner) on the serpentine belt system.
I'm pretty sure your noise will come down to the same thing as mine.
I touched the middle of it with a screwdriver and the noise went. It then came back when i removed the screwdriver, so it was obvious after that.

I got my oil filter housing gasket changed recently. And at that time, also got the alternator replaced. I took it to the same mechanic who did the job. But when I went there to show him the noise, it wouldn't come up. But it consistently comes up aftet relatively long rides and when I stop by the traffic lights.
Is it dangerous in any way to ride with this sound? Is it bad for the pulleys or tensioners?
