no heated rear window

Post by Microlightstore » Fri Feb 09, 2018 10:46 pm

Hi
wonder if anyone can help , a few months ago i had my roof motor moved and fixed,
fantastic i was well happy , got home but the rear window de-mister stopped working
just wondered if anyone had any ideas why this happened i thought he may have
accidentally pulled a wire off , i can go back but looking for suggestions to save me
a 150 mile round trip if its a simple thing , if anyone could point me in the direction
where the connectors may be , it may just be total co incidence that its not working
again if anyone has any ideas it would be great , when i turn it on you can hear the
relay click under the glove box but it does not work.

many thanks in advance

The connector is on the drivers side, and the cable runs up along the roof hinge/ram. Does the button illuminate when you turn it on? You haven't had a flat/replaced battery lately have you?

Ok, one last question. Does the blower motor still work on max speed, or does it sound slower than usual when on full?

Just making sure before I jump in lol.

Check cables on both sides, mine was broken on the passenger side, most likely from opening/closing roof regularly

My defogger stopped working. I pulled the little covers off of the connector and the right hand one 9the powered end) fell off. I used a defogger tab repair kit to reattach.

If you have a volt-ohm meter, you can do a few simple tests.
1-Remove the cover from the right tab, check for 12 volts between the tab and ground when the defogger is energized. If 12 volts then ok.
2-Remove the left tab cover, and with the power off, use your ohm meter to check that tab for continuity to ground (the meter will read 0 ohms if ok and infinite ohms if broken).

If these are both ok, it should be working ok.

How do I know if it’s gone into transport mode and how can I get it out of that if it is ?
Thanks
