Cannot connect to AUX

Post by markprz86 » Sun Jan 20, 2019 4:17 pm

Hi all,

Today i connected an aux cable to the back of my 2006 Z4 Coupe head unit. The stereo cannot find the aux input, i believe this is due to a cheap ebay cable that doesnt have the right resistance.

(On the rear of the head unit, there are plugs in both input sockets, however i do not have a CD changer, so not sure what these are for?)

I’ve seen a thread that shows soldering resistors/capacitors into the aftermarket aux cable, however this isnt something i wish to do.

Is there a cable anyone could recommend of a betterg quality that doesnt need this modification?

Thanks

I wouldn’t bother with them, I bought one in November, it didn’t work, emailed numerous times and I’ve not heard a squeak form him.
Cheers Kev.

Can anyone tell me the part number for the MINI Cooper aux cable that is compatible with the Z4?

I believe this is better priced than the BMW part

Thanks

Strange, I've used them for both my Zeds and they worked perfectly.

Hi, yes it’s a bit strange as I’ve used him before with no problem. I had an initial contact but all of a sudden nothing.
Cheers Kev.
