Srhutch, thanks very much for your help mate.

MK3 drives are still around £200 on eBay so its looking like this would work out to be quite a lot on money so not sure its worth it for the business sat nav.

Say I ignored my own commonsense for it anyway does the business nav have the dsp settings and is it just plug and play?

Thanks again.

Also...I have found a Mk 3 Navi Box (Part Number 6920758) so will this work with the Business Sat Nav (Part Number 6512 6932442-01) and if so, what wiring harness would I need?

Thanks!

i checked the fuses, and all of them aren't broken for the radio. I guess i have to look for the connection for the power to the gps system. Anyone have a diagram of which pin supplies power to the radio so i can follow the wire.

Mostly from eBay, but not from just the UK. Include Germany and US in the search as my radio came form the US and the screen from Germany.

Bad_Pritt wrote:And yet another question :D

Does anyone have the dimensions (incl depth in the dash) of the standard satnav flip up/down monitor? Are the dimensions of this monitor the same as the dimensions of the X3-monitor? I have read on a few posts here that the parts look alike and that some have even received X3 parts in error when installing the standard satnav. So if the dimensions are the same... the X3 dash bin should fit the E85... hence the portable BMW Garmin system should fit the E85...?
Bad_Pritt, did you ever have joy with your custom Nav fit?
skeme wrote:I too would like to get the plastic assembly and wiring, but not too fussed with the screen inside - Does anyone know if you can get the part without the display in it.

Can anyone confirm the full screen size (width and height) in mm as I will be looking to make my own android incar system.

Can anyone help in sourcing this part? What sort of price is it and where is the best place to get it from?
skeme, did you make a custom android fit?

Looking at parts of eBay the cost seems to have gone up and a custom unit inside a dash tray or Nav Screen would be ideal.

I'm guessing no one had luck with a custom fit. Having searched I am confused about possible set ups. Can I use a Business Navigation System with a MKIV unit and screen as per a pic on this thread? Will this give the same functions as the Professional Navigation System?

I wouldnt think so as the business one has its own screen.

Thanks for the reply, looks like I will keep waiting!! Thanks also for the advice about finding the loom first, may have to get an X3 one and adapt it. :D
