Post by andysat » Sun Apr 08, 2012 7:17 pm

Hi all-i thought i would document this,i dont know if it would help anyone-
Before-
Image
After wheel removed,remove the cover-
Image
Unplug wire to lamp, remove the two screws inside, and one on the front of the bumper-
Image
New lamp unit with silicone grease i used for the joint(i dont know if this was overkill, but i used it anway)
Image
I covered the front lens with a cloth to protect it as i wriggled it home,i pulled the cloth out of the front opening, put the three screws back, connected the bulb back, replaced the cover and wheel to give-
Image
Same for the opposite side obviously,i hope this helps anyone wishing to do the same.

Wow - that's some moisture ingress there Andy. Did these have rubber seals initially, and if so, have they perished? Nice write up btw...

Is this for an e85 or e86? In which case why is it in the e89 section? Completely different car folks.

Fixed.

Good luck with the new lights. Wonder why they keep misting up, is it because they don't get much use?

Any recommendations on where to get the replacement fogs from? I have the same problem and after seeing this post will replace them myself, just need a decent Autofactors or did you get them from a dealer?

You could try Jamie at Sopers in Lincoln (I think), they tend to give a good price to forum members on OEM parts. These aren't cheap though - IIRC they are about £130. Each
