Does anyone have a picture of the connection to make the reverse lights work on both ends. Playing with my tail lights and got them working. Only issue is the reverse light doesn’t illuminate driver side. Everything else is fine.

You simply need to tap into the reverse bulb wire on the side that works, and run a wire across to the other side and add a connection. If you're unsure which wire it it, use a multimeter - connect the earth the car chassis, and then probs the other wires whilst car is in reverse until you get a 12v read. If poss, have another person to help, so they can put the car in reverse and take it out to ensure the voltage drop to 0 when NOT in reverse, then goes back to 12v when it IS in reverse

Why do you need to replace the rear bumper? I will be doing this soon if the guy I've bought the lights off isn't scamming me.

You may have trouble fitting the (pre-facelift) bumper back on after you swap the lights.

The lights are a different shape at the bottom , I believe someone modified the old bumper to fit but think that entails some painting / cutting

It's a bodge. You're making it work instead of doing it properly. Without properly modifying the bumper you're going to put stress right in the middle of the expensive LCI light unit (bottom part). Take a look at the shapes of both bumpers:

Totally agree a lot of work to modify to make it look right , I paid £70 for mine plus £200. It also needs a support piece that sits under the bumper if I remember right I bought one from bmw but wish I hadn’t as the old one can certainly be modified

Got my facelift lights arriving next week.

Is it so much work on the pre-facelift bumper to get them to fit?

Interested to see how you get on, no harm in trying to make it fit but any modification to the existing bumper either cutting it or heating it up to round the edge will then need repainting. You could touch it up and blend the paint which may look acceptable if done right but not 100%. My thoughts were if your having it repainted thats at least £200 and if your spending £200 you may as well spend another £70 on a facelift bumper thats the correct shape. Def worth giving it a try though. My facelift rear bumper needs repainting as the shop that did it 10 years ago clearly didn't do a great job and the paint has these tiny bubbles everywhere. As it is facelift sterling grey doesn't exist in that shape otherwise would have just found another sterling grey rear bumper and save the cost. :)

The first thing you will notice after doing it is the car looks wider with the new lights , especially at night :D

£70? Where can I find one for £70? At that price it's a no-brainer but I'm not so sure I'd find one for that price in Germany.. Everything seems to be a lot more expensive here. I'll see what the folks over at ZRoadster say.

I bought my rear one of eBay for £70 and my front one recently for £80 in the right colour! Seems to be the going rate second hand with scratches or blemishes , since you need to paint anyway as the colour for pre facelift is sterling grey and I think the colour for facelift is silver grey which is a bit lighter so won't match.

looks like its £95 cheapest in Germany:
