Cracked 18" alloy on an E89?
Can't see what you are trying to achieve. If one person reports a cracked wheel it won't mean a thing. As others have said, it's a problem on lots of cars. Big wheels, rubber band tyres, stiff suspension and shite roads full of holes.

Neither am I. Until I have data, I don't draw conclusions from it.
In this case, however, the thread isn't full of people saying, 'Yep, my 18" wheel(s) on my E89 cracked.' In fact, in 25 replies and 425 views to date, nobody's said that.
So, although negative data's notoriously difficult to deal with, of course, it seems reasonable to suspect that the Z4-forum ain't full of E89s with cracked 18" wheels.
(The same, however, may not be true of 19"s. But that's a different question. )
Anyway, perhaps the next few days will produce replies saying the opposite. We'll see, I hope.
I have not looked at page 3 of this thread yet!!
Nor will I!!!
But from what you have just posted above!
Just **^^ off and google or something!!!

To be fair though the 500 views mean nothing really.Busterboo wrote:Nah, Rob. I'm as sweet as the day is long.Smartbear wrote: I think you could start a fight in an empty room

A thread about someone waiting for their refurbed wheels has almost 500 views.

Busterboo, Why dont you just write to BMW and demand information under the Freedom of information act on how many E89's with 18" wheels or 326's they have replaced under warranty ? ...FFS !

"FFS"? If you don't like the thread, don't read it. It's not compulsory.Number5 wrote:Busterboo, Why dont you just write to BMW and demand information under the Freedom of information act on how many E89's with 18" wheels or 326's they have replaced under warranty ? ...FFS !

How do I know I dont like it until I've read it ???Busterboo wrote: "FFS"? If you don't like the thread, don't read it. It's not compulsory.
You have admitted you dont really know what you are trying to achieve/determine here and you just seem to ignore everybody's comments and advice if they don't confirm your own beliefs. I've never read such confusing posts as yours.
PS How are you getting on with those Pirelli's after you asked and everyone advised you to buy Goodyears ???

Klaus had an MOT yesterday & failed with a cracked inner rim. It's currently fitted with 18" 293s.
