My dad had one of the first new 330i convertibles, with that new 'magermisch' (leanburn) engine... BMW was kind enough to take it back after 11 months and 24 visits to the garage. It had multiple fuel pump, injector nozzles etc. replacements and still had cold start issues, didn't run smooth, had very bad fuel economy... All in all the most problematic BMW he has ever had (and he's had a 524td, 525i, 320i convertible (E36), X5 3.0d, Z4R 3.0si, 325i convertible (E46), 330i convertible (E93) and now a 335i convertible (E93)). They supposedly have fixed the 330i engine issues in the later builds, but he didn't want to take that risk and went for the 335i instead. The new 335i runs like a charm. He's had that for a few months now and that's been a problem free, and very enjoyable car thus far.
